The City’s newest cycling initiative, Riding with the Gals, attracted more than 50 women to each of the first two rides held in March and April. Olympic champion and soon-to-be mum, Sara Carrigan, led the recent rides around the suburbs of Robina and Varsity Lakes. Participants enjoyed the stylish cruise around the local area, discovering new pathways to enjoy and making new friends to continue riding with.

"This event has inspired me to ride to work. I have subsequently identified a route that I can take from Robina to Burleigh Heads, which is prominently on paths and away from motorists. Thanks for encouraging me to get back on my bike on a regular basis!
"I love riding and keen to find some other girls to ride with ... have now found one."
"It was awesome. It excelled my expectations. I used to live in Robina and only rode on the roads so didn't know how beautiful the scenery is on the bicycle paths."
"I hope this is the start of more to come!"
