From community get-togethers with Varsity College P&C and weekly activities at Hope Church, to MEN MATTER at Sports House, dragon boats on Lake Orr and our major community golf day, there are plenty of ways to get involved this October and November.

We’ll use this newsletter to keep you connected with local events, Sports House clubs, community organisations, VLCL initiatives and opportunities to participate, support or simply come along.

Hosted by Katelin Vincent from You Go Bro, MEN MATTER is a full-day in-person event giving men dedicated time and space to focus on what they need, what they want, what they’re carrying and who they want to become.

Sunday 25 October · 10am–5pm Sports House, 337 Christine Avenue, Varsity Lakes A special $50 community discount is available using code YGBLEGEND when booking. BOOK MEN MATTER

12–14 November 2026 brings the Pan Pacific Masters Dragon Boat Regatta to Lake Orr. Enjoy racing on our local waterways across 500m, 200m and Round the Island events, and cheer on visiting teams from the shoreline. Team entries are at capacity; check the official event page for the latest program and spectator information.

Sports House has long supported paddling and dragon boating on Lake Orr, and this is another chance to see the precinct doing what it was designed to do — bringing sport, participation and community activity together.

New to dragon boating or an experienced paddler? Join Gold Coast Dragons for challenge, friendship and structured training that develops technique, fitness and racing skills with experienced coaching.

Our 2026 achievements include seven Australian Championship gold medals and silver at the Club Crew World Championships in Hualien, Taiwan. This year also marks 30 years since the club’s incorporation.
